Our Story

Weston Seifert and Family

The Saw Shop Public House sits in the heart of the big little country town of Kelseyville, California. Originally a private home purchased from a Sears Roebuck catalog and built in 1931, it was home to several Kelseyville families before becoming a local landmark.

In the 1970s, the house was transformed into Cooke's Saw Shop & Paint Store, serving the community for decades. In the early 2000s, a local entrepreneur reimagined the property once again, opening the Saw Shop Gallery & Bistro. It quickly became an iconic gathering place where neighbors met over great meals and standout Lake County wines.

In 2019, we became The Saw Shop Public House, a new name that better reflects our role as a welcoming community hub with an updated personality and fresh energy.

A True Public House

Traditionally, a public house is where people come together to share stories, enjoy a meal, and relax over a drink. Pubs are filled with friendly chatter, laughter, and the savory aromas of comfort food drifting from the kitchen.

That's exactly what we aim to be for Kelseyville and Lake County: a warm, lively space where friends, families, and visitors feel right at home.

Food & Drink

Chef Victor and our culinary team create hearty, scratch‑made pub fare using fresh, local, and organic ingredients whenever possible. You'll find inventive new dishes alongside familiar favorites, each with a creative twist.

Behind the bar, our team crafts exceptional signature and seasonal cocktails. Our taps feature local craft beers, and our wine list is the largest selection of local and regional wines in the area.
